SJ Man Charged with Molesting Young Girls, Developmentally - Patch

A San Jose man charged today with sexually molesting two young girls and a developmentally disabled woman may have more victims, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors allege Waking Bailey, 33, molested two young girls while working at Eastfield Ming Quong?a Los Gatos facility that houses children who are dependents of the court, Deputy District Attorney Marisa McKeown said in a statement.

"Bailey chose his victims because they were especially vulnerable. He targeted and took advantage of not just kids, but victims with special needs," McKeown said.

McKeown said a 12-year-old girl was assaulted in 2009 and another girl was molested over the course of three years when she was between the ages of 6 and 9.

Bailey was employed at EMQ for four years until he was placed on leave last year, McKeown said. Bailey also worked for AcheiveKids?a center for developmentally disabled people between the ages of 5 and 22 in San Jose.

Prosecutors said that Bailey took an 18-year-old student from the center, brought her to a football game with his family and sexually assaulted her after he dropped his family off at home.

Prosecutors said the woman had the mental age of a 5- or 6-year-old. Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police arrested Bailey on Thursday and he was charged with three felony counts of lewd act on a child and one count of rape of an incapable person, according to the district attorney's office.

Bailey faces 53 years to life in prison if convicted, McKeown said.

Law enforcement officials are concerned there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to call the district attorney's office's sexual assault unit at (408) 792-2608.
