After reaching the top of the national rankings last Tuesday for the first time in program history, Fraser Valley (11-1) enjoyed a solid weekend with home wins over Saskatchewan (6-6), 71-62, and Alberta (7-5), 74-50. The Cascades, who are tied with No. 2 Regina for the best record in Canada West, visit Calgary (10-2) and Lethbridge (5-7) this week.

Women?s hockey
Top-ranked McGill (11-0-0) enjoyed a break in its RSEQ scheduled last week but kept busy with a 4-1 non-conference win over Connecticut of the NCAA. The Martlets, who are the only remaining undefeated team in the country, host No. 3 Montreal (11-2-0) and Ottawa (3-7-2) this weekend.
Men?s hockey
Top-ranked Alberta (16-4-0) registered a pair of huge home wins against No. 5 Saskatchewan (14-6-0) last weekend, by identical 3-2 scores, to open up a four-point lead over its archrival atop the Canada West standings. The Golden Bears stay in Edmonton this week for a Friday-Saturday doubleheader versus Lethbridge (1-17-2).
Women?s volleyball
Top-ranked UBC (13-1) swept Winnipeg (4-10) in straight sets on consecutive nights over the weekend. The Thunderbirds, who hold a slim one-game lead over No. 2 Trinity Western (12-2) atop the Canada West standings, will look to continue their winning ways later this week when they visit Thompson Rivers (0-14) for a pair.
Men?s volleyball
Top-ranked Alberta improved to 14-0 in league play thanks to 3-2 and 3-0 wins at Calgary (2-12). The Bears, who lead the Canada West race by six points, should be tested this weekend when they visit No. 5 Brandon (10-4) for a two-game series.
