I have put together a few things on offer this week, but focused more on the fantastic workshops, concerts and other events on over half-term that you need to book in advance.? I have tried (or gotten excellent feedback) from just about everything on the list and well-worth the time and cost.? I will follow up next week with the drop-in events that look equally compelling.

Family events for Next Weekend, October 20th:

The Gate Picturehouse Notting Hill, Kids Club.? Saturdays 10:30, ?1 per ticket for members (membership costs ?4), ?2 for popcorn and juice.? This is my husband?s favourite gig in town on a rainy day when he?s been out late the night before (ahem).? The Gate is located at the top of the stairs to the Notting Hill Gate underground, is a fantastic old cinema, the Pirate Ship Playground is near-by or you can easily run into the West End or to the Museum Campus to enjoy some indoor culture.? This week?s classic: Mirror, Mirror.

Storytellng at the National Portrait Gallery: Queen Catherine, Two Million Pounds and a Cup of Tea.? Learn how Catherine, Infanta of Portugal, came to marry Charles II and her tea connection. Age 3+, free and 10:30-11:45, tickets allocated on arrival.

Family Art Workshops at the Saatchi Gallery: Peek into Korea.? Bring your kids to the wonderful Valeria as she leads your children through the gallery looking at a few interesting pieces in the current exhibit then you are off to the studio to create a fabulous work of art to take home.? Sundays 11am, 1pm & 3pm ages 4+, ?5 per child (younger siblings welcome and non-participating children are not charged).? There is a newly opened, critically acclaimed contemporary photography exhibit, Out of Focus; adults can take turns with the Valeria in the workshop and check out this latest exhibit.

Camden Art Centre, Make and Do, Sundays 2-4:30pm.? Come join artist Chloe Cooper for an interactive art workshop based on the co-current exhibitions in Camden Art Centre, focusing on the iconic image of the sausage.?
